so...these are the programs of 3 universities I'm planning to apply to before January 13th. I was thinking of applying to OCAD, but then I realized I don't want to be in a school where I'm purely surrounded by cool, hip, and for the most part, pretentious art kids, no offence.

I'm going to Connor's birthday party tomorrow evening. that should be fun. and next week, I've got to start painting! oh, and it's official, I'm getting braces next year. i'm happy about it because hey, it's braces and it's refreshing in the end but on the other hand, putting braces on when I'm beginning university makes me feel a bit odd. hmmm...think of ugly betty as an inspiration. she's twenty- four and has braces and I think she's cool...but then again, my defintion of cool is a bit strange. and she is a fictional character. whatever, I don't even really need braces and my case is light (slight crowding), therefore I won't have them on for too long. I can survive.

this week was much better then the last past week. the last past week, I cried like a baby because of school work, particularly because of a rough draft for a philosophy essay. I know, who cries because of a rough draft? me.

due to parent teacher's interview and student council assembly, this week's schedule at school was all shorten. I think the highlight of the week was on Thursday. we were dismissed at 12:28pm, but I got out at 11:30am because of my last period spare. muahahaha.
in Philosophy, we've been watching Changing Lanes and i've come to conclusion that Ben Affleck is pretty damn attractive. in Family Studies, we started watching Ordinary People and Mr. Ekelund lied- Matt Dillion is not in the film. in art we are doing the nude model, doing as in drawing her as in life figure drawings. we have a new women this year...and this time I did not get feel awkward and not attend classes because of seeing a naked person in front of my teachers and peers. and in law, we played Halo on the our classroom's new flat screen tv...go figure. school currently is pretty much chill.

starting next week I want to begin painting after schools. partly because my teacher and mom are essentially bitching at me to paint and partly because I'm bitching at myself to continue to paint and a whole bunch of other partly(s) that have prompt me to come to the conclusion that I should just paint. paint paint paint. at least have one portrait done before the holiday break. this means i need new tunes to listen to during my painting sessions. it really does make a difference.

i've been hanging out with monica a lot lately. she doesn't go to humberside anymore, she doing her courses online with a different school board. she seems to be more happier though. it's great when she's feeling okay. on thursday after waking up around four from a nap, I decided to hang out with her. She was already downtown so I met up with her and we did our little street vendor french fries rountine at nathan phillips square and then we went for an aimless walk literally around everywhere in downtown. the stop lights guided us. we then ended up going back to nathan phillips square and at our pizza slices under one of the many vacant tents set up for the upcoming Calvacade of Lights event. It was a nice time.

there were quite a few people in the square skating. such a hint for the beginning of the holiday season.

tonight, my mom, sister and I are going to that Calvacade of Lights event. we've been going to it every year since I was in seventh or eighth grade, except for last year. last year was a stupid situation. hopefully we do go tonight and that this year's will be memorable.

1) when the wheels come down
when the wheels touch ground
and you feel like its all over
here's another round for you
when the wheels come down

AND

2) You're a marionette in the center of
The twisting of strings coming from above
It may seem too deep to recover from
It's so easy to see everyone can agree just let it go

Okay, so. I'm really liking Wheels by the Foos (1) and Substitution by Silversun Pickups (2)

Movies that I watched over the weekend...
1) Whole New Thing (an interesting Canadian indie)
2)Mallrats (Jason Lee equals me drooling...same with Jay. Yes, Jay from the Jay and Silent Bob duo
3)Heathers (Christian Slater went from a hot enigma to a homicidal manic...creep)

Yesterday was a p.a day at school, but I went back to work on the 5 small paintings that's due on Monday. I've only done three so far- two of them I need to just paint in the eyes because I'm too nervous to touch that area and the other, which is the lateest one I'm working on, needs work on the skin, eyes and hair. I'll try to finish the latest one on Monday. My art teacher seems to glorify my paintings to me and other students. I'm not complaining, haa. I'm pretty proud of them myself. I've been getting nice feedback. But i don't won't to jinx myself for the last two paintings.

I met up with Phil in the art room and then Daniela came to work on some stuff too. I'm so proud of her, cause she's putting the effort in school this year. Anyway, it was such a fun day. I thought it'd be awkward with Phil around, but we all had so many intense, but fun conversations about stuff and I was really comfortable.  It was nice, going out to Mr. Sub...and being social and going back to school, an being social. He owes me 7 bucks.
I was the last one to leave the art room, and got kicked out by a janitor. omg, the school at night, with all the lights off- so fucking dark and scary. But then I met up Emma and Gabrielle waiting for their rides and I hung out with them for awhile cause it was nice to see people in a lonely, dark school, but I genuinely also wanted to talk with them.

Um, so my plan for me when I got home last night was to complete Part D of my APS review. That didn't happened. I'll try and do that now before my hair appointment.

Last weekend was Car Free Day...or something like that, and they had bands in numerous places on Queen St. W playing their stuff to celebrate. This was 3/4 of an irish, folk punk-rock band, which was pretty sweet.

School has been going pretty well. It has it's ups and downs. I just need to accept that my relationships with people can't always go swimmingly.

Yesterday, I went all out on Queen St. West. I spontaneously bought a Holga. Although I'm exchanging it because I had no idea it was the fulgy ass multi-coloured one. I just wanted to black. So I'll be doing that today also along with re-visting stores I went to this week and returning purchases.
What's up with me lately? I'm just spending money on stuff I want to return the next day. Oh wells. I'm thinking of cutting up my debt card, haha.

holgaholgaholga.
